Seven Cluttered Homes, One Epic Mess!
“Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home In the Country” Hosted by Niecy Nash National Television Event Debuts Tonight Wednesday, May 20th — 10 pm ET/PT on The Style Network

Niecy Nash and her “Clean House” Team Visit Seven Cities Across the Nation to Rescue Families Drowning In Clutter

Event culminates in a 2-Hour Special on July 1st Unveiling 2009′s “Messiest Home In the Country” and Documenting its Full Makeover

For the very first time, Style Network’s “Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” has been expanded to a multi-episode, multi-city television event –”Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country.” Seven special “Clean House” episodes follow host Niecy Nash and her experts as they travel from coast to coast to find this year’s messiest home, stopping in various cities along the way to help other extreme cases of out of control clutter. The “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” event begins tonight, Wednesday, May 20, at 10 pm ET/PT, on The Style Network.

With more clutter, more mayhem and more foolishness than ever before, the first six one-hour “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” episodes follow mega-home transformations in Atlanta, Baltimore, Honolulu, Las Vegas, San Diego and St. Louis — culminating in a two-hour blow-out episode unveiling this year’s “Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country,” as well as documenting its room by room transformation.

In each new on-the-road “Clean House” episode, host Niecy Nash; interior design guru Mark Brunetz; yard sale diva Trish Suhr; and new addition, go-to-guy Eugene Long; come to the rescue of a family and home in need of de-cluttering. After addressing the root causes of a homeowner’s clutter, the “Clean House” crew makes its way through the mountains of “stuff,” determining what must go. Discarded items are sold at a giant public yard sale, with proceeds matched by the show going towards a much-needed home makeover. Proceeds from this year’s “Messiest Home in the Country” yard sale, however, will be donated to charity.

Episodic highlights from the “Clean House: Search from the Messiest Home in the Country” event include:

  • A St. Louis home with growing mountains of mess, worsened by the homeowner’s hoarding tendencies and her numerous dogs, birds and monkeys! (May 20)
  • A multi-generational Honolulu family overcome by rooms stuffed with one daughter’s clutter and junk, leading to friction amongst the mother and daughter (June 3)
  • A Las Vegas family that has fallen victim to foreclosure and been forced to move into an already cluttered childhood home (June 24)
  • The monumental makeover of the 2009 “Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country” — the home of a detective by day, packrat by night, in which every room of the house is crammed with stuff (2-hour event finale, July 1)

Where is this year’s “Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country?” Can Niecy and her team successfully clean up six other homes across America or have they bitten off more they can chew? How will the homeowners react when confronted about their mess?

Tune-in to Style’s “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” event starting Wednesday, May 20 at 10 pm ET/PT… and don’t miss this year’s 2-hour “Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country” special episode on Wednesday, July 1 at 9 pm ET/PT.

My husband and I are addicted to “Clean House” and we love the cast – please don’t change them – if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

I met Matt at the L.A. Superior Court building. He is as gorgeous and kind as he is on tv. What a nice gentleman. Bring him back.

I have just finsihed watching this episode and I have never seen two more selfish and nondeserving people of your largesse. It is unfortunate that the resources of the show were wasted on these two. If I were the producer I would have sacrificed good TV pulled the plug on this episode and sent all the money to the charity.

Shame on those two women! Florence

I watched the show of the messiest house in America. What ungrateful pigs. Oh wait that’s an insult to pigs everywhere. Those two women ruined the show for me. I wished you could have packed all their crap back to their front yard and dumped it there. What a waste of time and resources.

Just watched Clean House: Messiest Home 3. I have to give Niecy and the rest of the Clean House crew/producers a lot of respect. This whole situation was really unfortunate. These two women did not deserve any of what the received. They obviously needed help with issues other than their disgusting house; these women could not be helped. Maybe Dr. Phil! I think as soon as the mother said “I quit” (although at the end of the show) everything that wasn’t nailed to the wall or floor should have been removed and given to charity. There was no change in feelings or attitudes, I give their house 12months or less before it looks like a junk yard again.

Wow, we just finished the “messiest home 3″ episode….I am sorry you and your crew were treated so rudely and, like an inconvience. It really embarased me, as a mom and housewife. I hope people don’t think that was the normal American family, with normal “acumulated clutter”. And to see two grown women acting like toddlers on national TV. Your crew did an AMAZING job, I just pray that it will stay desent after all the hard work, I have a feeling it won’t…We have a rule in our house, if you can’t use something within a year, it goes to someone else who needs it. Animals horde to survive long winters, I thought humans had evolved a little more than your average squirrel, maybe not in all cases..Keep up the good work, we love the show, your set on our DVR. My little boy just turned 8, and his first crush is MS. Niecy Nash! No matter what your situation, cardboard box or mansion, you can ALWAYS be clean and have to own your actions.

How many people would like to have your crew come to their homes and help their life quarters improve? This “3rd” family was pityful (haven’t used that word in a while) and the mother’s behavior atrocious. You and your team truly were amazing with the disrespect dished to you. At the end of the day, you blessed another family, and you are blessed.

  • Linda C. Said on July 12th, 2009 at 6:12 pm

The 3rd Messiest… show was a demonstration of Niecy & crew’s graciousness and fortitude. I apologize for the mother & daughter because they haven’t got nor ever will have a clue about civility or gratitude. A clean house will NEVER fix those two!
I just couldn’t enjoy the show and will not watch the rerun. Niecy is a breathe of fresh air and makes me laugh out loud. Her team is wonderful.

Niecy and Crew we love you! I find your show inspiring as I LOVE to organize (Yea Trish!). Mark has some spectacular design ideas! We love the Go-To guys! My husband and I watched the season finale with jaws on the floor the entire episode! We feel bad for you and your crew for how you were treated while also having a newfound respect for your patience and your determination to do the right thing for other people. All of you are a blessing! Keep up the GREAT work!

  • Sandi Brown Said on July 14th, 2009 at 3:36 pm

Niecy, I love the team and God bless you all! I just watch the 3rd show and I promise, you should have picked up and left. Those two women has no idea how lucky they were and your crew didn’t deserve what those two put you through. I am sorry that some people have no idea what makes people love. Love is what makes the world go around and their world has stopped. Cleaning their house hasn’t helped them at all and it is a shame. The mother needs to get real and the daughter needs to grow up.

Mark the work was fabulous and the garage sale was unbelievable. Way to go team. Trish you are a special bread with the yard sales and the organizing.

Please keep Matt in the team he is awesome. This old lady likes to look……yummy!

Keep up the good work and can’t wait for another episode………….!!

    Sandi.

    Niecy,

You did a great job dealing with that family. I know that you had to stay collected, it being a family show and all. You all certainly took the high road-kudos to you. What a witch. However, I feel their behavior speaks for itself. Just airing the show gives you the last word!!

    Hi
Love the show!!! What happened to the follow up on Messiest House #2?? Did they keep it clean??
    Thank you!
Oh and please no shows without Neicy!!!!

  • Emma Grace Said on August 21st, 2009 at 9:55 pm

I think the words those two ungrateful people were looking for was “thank you”. I hate to tell Bridgette this, but ‘like mother, like daughter’. They both have the EXACT same personality. Hopefully, they BOTH will grow up soon. Thank you to cast and crew for doing such a beautiful and professional job with those two.

Hi. How do we apply for this? My husband and I live in the country, and we have so much stuff that our house is a wreck. We just have a path through it. I know we don’t need all this stuff, but we keep moving it, storing it, buying more, or waiting for the right time to do something, which never comes. Our kids don’t even like to visit because it is so cluttered! We eat in our bedroom for lack of a better place — a place to sit! Please let us know what to do so that we can be considered! We have our house filled with stuff, 2 canvas buildings, and also rented storage unit! In addition, we have a three-story barn/shop, and a three-section horse barn filled, too. Even outside is a mess! Please HELP!!!!!!!!!
