On The Death of Michael Jackson
Posted by Niecy on July 2nd, 2009 under The Blog

The King of Pop is gone but not forgotten…..We all have our memories of MJ and the Jackson Five. I was screaming my head off at The Victory Tour! I also met MJ again two years ago when I hosted a Bday party for Rev. Jessie Jackson. He was adorable! Over the last 45 years, he sacrificed a normal life so give us music that will outlast our lives. It is awful that in the wake of his death that so many people are trying to tear down his legacy and tarnish his image. How many of us have done things that we wish our friends or family would never find out??? What if our obituary told our ENTIRE story? I pray for the Jackson family sake that the world allows MJ to rest in peace. After all, its the one thing we could give him, after all he’s given us….

Lady, you are the sexiest woman I can think of! You make my heart race. And I like your spirit. Please don’t change.

  • daphne Said on July 3rd, 2009 at 9:26 am

What if our obituary told our whole life story? That’s a great question.
It seems that MJ’s life has the entire country talking and taking sides.
Some are saying, “He/She who is without sin cast the first stone.”
Others are saying, Leave no stone unturned.

    Niecy,
Please publish a style guide…you have such an amazing since of style…LOVE watching Clean House…I think I watch so that my house won’t get that bad…cause I come from a family of hoarders and have been known to buy in bulk…lol…Keep on keeping it real girl…

  • Katie Said on July 4th, 2009 at 12:26 pm

    Niecy,
I think that we can all find peace in our hearts knowing that he has finally found peace himself. Michael had a horrible life and left us with such a great gift. Let us remember him for what he left us with and know that he took with him his sickness and pain. It is not our place to judge him we are just human ourselves. Now he will be judged by the only one who matters and I believe we should let go of what we have heard and remember our memories. Michael Jackson left us with such a great gift. He bridged generations and racial gaps while inspiring many to dream of making music as well. Plus he IS the KING OF POP. When the King of Rock and Roll passed away everyone forgot his sins and just remembered him as an icon. We owe it to Michael to believe in him and remember him as well. No one’s life is easy, we all make mistakes.

    Love,
    Katie

Your kind words about MJ are inspirational. In spite of the haters, the man was a musical genius. I only wish he could have seen how much people genuinely loved him. Keep up the good work while I keep watching Clean House! Salud!

Your response regarding Michael Jackson was right on time. In this day and age, where there are so many things wrong with the world, why not focus on the good Michael has done. We all have stones we do not want unturned. He will always have a place in my heart. As do all that I admire regardless of the circumstances in their lives. God Bless

  • Dianne Said on July 5th, 2009 at 8:38 pm

I can only hope that Michael finds the peace that society wouldn’t allow him to have in life.

Very nice post, Niecy — and great hair, too!!!

    Love your show.

  • Keshia Said on July 6th, 2009 at 4:36 pm

I couldn’t agree more with your blog, unforunately, the media seems to think this is the price celebrities pay for so much fame, even in death. May Michael rest in peace. Finally. P.S. You are such an beautiful inspiration!! God Bless You!

  • Nina Said on July 7th, 2009 at 1:34 am

You are so right Niecy. We are a society that sometimes feed on gossip, pain and misery. It is so nice to see so many people come together in love and adoration of a great artist. May God take good care of him. You are home Michael.

  • Joan Said on July 8th, 2009 at 1:30 pm

I agree with you concerning MJ. I want you to know how much I admire you Niecy for all you do on Clean House. I am a spiritual counselor and I so enjoy (and add to my own toolbox of knowledge) from what you say to the hoarding families. You are so wise, insightful, dynamic, gorgeous, loving, kind and spiritual. You always hit the nail on the head with everyone’s core issues.Thank you for sharing your gifts and light through your work. It is so much more than a show about cleaning house because of what you bring to it.

mj… was the most talented person ever! he had a huge impact on all of our lives… i am sad he is gone… that is all i have to say!

  • Teresa A. Said on July 10th, 2009 at 8:06 pm

I so agree with you Niecy. Let me put it this way, if you peeked in all the closets of all the politicians in Washington and elsewhere, not even Trish could organize that mess and as you know the girl has mad organizational skills.
There will never be another Michael Jackson…he was an original, talented and a great humanitarian. Sad that he has to leave this earth to finally find some peace. God rest his soul.

  • Teresa A. Said on July 10th, 2009 at 8:08 pm

    Niecy,

I am always sad when anyone passes, and especially someone who has touched so many. I pray for you during this time and all who have been so moved by Michael’s passing. I hope you are doing well.

There are really no words to express the loss of Michael Jackson. I’m happy that someone in the “biz” had the guts to express it on their site!

You are very talented and I enjoy seeing you grow before our eyes!

  • Berneka Said on July 11th, 2009 at 1:53 am

Very well put Neicy, I felt the same way when I heard the news, the fact is the gift of MJ is longer with us and for his childrens sake, let him Rest. Someone should tell the media to think about his children…!!!!they are suffering through what is being said, dont take their childhood, too, trying to magnify yesterdays drama

  • Kimmi Said on July 11th, 2009 at 5:15 pm

You are spot on Niecy. They won’t even let us mourn him without nasty unnecessary remarks. I heard a woman at my job say just yesterday that she didn’t understand why they were having a memorial in Gary, IN because he wasn’t God or Elvis. I was stunned, don’t know why but I was, and realized that its a jealousy issue. Whether they like it or not, we love and will always love MJ. They can say what they wish because it won’t stop him from being the greatest entertainer in the world and one of the most caring and loving person who had lived. —

I miss you on Clean House, hope you come back, it’s just not the same without you! You’re beautiful and you actually make me bust out laughing with the things you say. Especially the “foolishness” comments!

  • Betsy Said on July 12th, 2009 at 1:46 am

You are spot on. MJ was such a huge part of my life, both as a child and then as a college woman when he had his big hits. His music takes me back to places in time and evoke emotions I had long forgotten. You are a very insightful person, Niecy which is just one more reason I have to be such a big fan of yours. Peace.

You have hit the nail on the head.I’m 42 years old and I grew up on Michel Jackson.I was devestated when he died and I wish people would let him rest in peace.I believe that he should finally be affored the peace he was denied in life in his death.I think that you are a true spirit and I wish you nothing but success.By the way,why aren’t you on Clean House anymore? It’s not the same without you.Well, peace and blessings.cw

I MISS MICHAEL SO VERY MUCH. I WAS DEVISTATED WHEN I HEARD THE NEWS. I WASN’T ABLE TO FULLY GRASP IT UNTIL MUCH LATER. I LOVE YOUR SHOW AND I HOPE THAT ONE DAY I’LL BE CHOOSEN TO BE ON YOUR SHOW.I TOLD MY COUSIN THAT SHE REMINDS ME OF YOU ESPECIALLY YOU BUN WITH THE BABY HAIR.

  • KarenOravis Said on July 18th, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Ms. Nash…I was skeptical until I saw your response to a bona fide psychiatric Hoarding issue in the 2009 programming. I married a hoarder, or should I say he married me…I am zen-ish, meaning I keep a bit too little. When I met my husband it took 6 full sized construction dumpsters and many hours to bring his life to clean and bearable. Together he and I reach a reasonable compromise, now I keep records I should and he gets rid of “stuff” he never uses. I appreciate your response to the Hoarder, the police detective who didn’t understand she had a problem, it was empathetic and well done…from those of us living with hoarders…thank you for your dignified and kind treatment of that woman.

  • Alma Said on July 18th, 2009 at 7:43 pm

With Michael Jackson death in mind we should remember his talent. His showmanship and the obvious detail and the perfection he brought to his work all for us. It is disheartening to think that anyone would want to discredit the Giant of an entertainer. The world has lost the entertainer of the century.

  • Solamor Said on July 19th, 2009 at 11:51 am

Niecy, Glad that you checked the public on the neg. MJ comments. When our turn comes to stand in line til end of time, how will we be remembered? No doubt there will be some good and bad memories but hopefully the Good will drastically outweigh the Bad. RIP MJ Love ya more 4eva.

I never met Michael Jackson although I found his Neverland Ranch but only got as far as the gate that leads to the gate. I love his music and cannot stop crying over his death. I believe he took something and thought his precious Dr. Murray was there to take care of him. Dr. Murray was not there; he not let killed Michael Jackson down, but he killed the hearts of millions of people in the world.

  • Janice Said on July 21st, 2009 at 7:13 pm

I meant to say he not only let Michael Jackson down, but he killed the hearts and souls of millions of people who loved Michael Jackson. Dr. Murray should not be allowed to administer medicine to a flea!

    Neicy,
Glad you’re back. Thanks for a beautiful sentiment about Michael Jackson. I am so saddened that he did not know how much he was really loved and admired. It also amazes me that we can all depend on the media to keep us abreast of the “foolishness & mayhem” we shouldn’t really be caring about(CNN).

  • Tina Said on August 3rd, 2009 at 1:14 am

Niecy…where the hell are you girl?? I’m still awaiting your return to the show, I saw one(1) show with you on it, I believe it was the one filmed on the big island of Hawaii, and then nothing but…well…others! *LOL*

We miss you. Please come back and become a regular again. God bless!

Thanks for posting a little something in the name of Michael. So many people had so many ugly things to say about the guy, and even showed footage of situations he encountered versus the money hungry that go after Stars.

Thanks again, Michael Rocks, so do you! So does clean house! Some people on that show piss me off sometimes though, they want help but they don’t want help and think that you are going to sit around and feel sorry for them while they pout about what they want to keep. If they don’t want the help they don’t need to waste your time.

Thanks for the shout out to MJ…I still feel like I’m not over him being gone, though I never even met the guy.

  • Jeff Said on September 3rd, 2009 at 6:08 pm

Michael was an amazingly unusual and incredibly rich guy. His unique life led him further and further away from the mainstream of society to the point that his everyday actions and appearance made him an easy target. Yes, he was “strange”, but that’s what happens when you spend your whole life in the world that he was living in.

I believe that it is quite possible that he was being set up (repeatedly) by various people who saw his amazing fortune and would say and do anything to cash in. You can watch any of the several recurring documentaries on “lottery winners”, and you’ll see how the vultures start lining up once they figure out someone has a lot of money and a careless attitude about it. It is an unfortunate standard pattern of behavior.

I’m an American, and in these United States we presume a person’s innocence until they are proven guilty. Michael was never proven guilty, and so many people lose sight of that fact. Some people think a mere accusation is good enough to evoke their innermost hatred for a person. If anything, all those accusations make me feel a pain inside my heart for Michael. It isn’t easy to feel sad for the mega-rich, until you think about what he went through and consider the possibility that he might well have been innocent.

  • Annie Said on September 29th, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Niecy, thank you for what you wrote about MJ. I NEVER thought he was guilty of anything. I firmly believe he was the victim of vicious money hungry people who took advantage of him. I don’t think he was capable of hurting anything or anyone, let alone children. He had a wonderful heart and he gave millions to so many wonderful charities to benefit children, he set up college funds, burn center for children, Ronald McDonald, Heal the World Foundation, Child Help USA. I invite people to look it up on Michael JacksonAction.com for an incredible list of everything MJ has done – it is AMAZING. The media never mentions all the good things this man did in his lifetime. He blessed this world in more ways than just his music and he truly leaves behind a legacy that he (and his family) can be very proud of. I doubt there are many people in this world who could compare to the good things MJ has done in his lifetime. God Bless him.

And, BTW, along with the others…I am awaiting to see you again on Clean House, won’t watch it without you…you really make the show! Take care!

  • Kris K. Said on October 19th, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Niecy: You are super!!! And thank you for your belief in MJ. I love him and never thought he was guilty of anything. He was a gift from GOD. He touched the world in so many ways. I don’t even think that people realized how much charity work he did. He never looked for recognition because he did it from his heart. I was so offened by Bethenny Frankel’s comments on Access Hollywood about MJ. She should do her research before she makes any comments about him. I am so tired of the media bashing surrounding MJ and his family. Why can’t they just leave them alone. They never tell the truth anyway. God Bless!

It just saddens me the way people are putting Micheal Jackson down even after his death. I wish people would stop the madness. Micheal has touched my life though his music. I like the song that says change the world make it a better place, I think that says it all. If we all show humbleness, meekness, and gentleness as Micheal gave to to the world, the world would be a better place. May God bless your family Micheal and may you rest in the arms of Jesus.
