Niecy Nash and her team of experts wade through mountains of clutter in this year’s “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country”
Multi-episode television event premieres tonight at 10 pm et/pt on the Style Network

Colossal clutter beware! Starting this April, The Style Network’s multi-episode event, “Clean House: Search For The Messiest Home In The Country,” sweeps through the nation. Ten special episodes follow host Niecy Nash and her experts as they search high and low to find this year’s messiest home, stopping in different cities and towns along the way to help families get their homes organized once and for all. “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” begins Wednesday, April 21, at 10 pm ET/PT, on The Style Network. A special two-hour finale episode, unveiling the messiest home in the country, airs on June 30th.
America’s favorite clean team thought they had seen it all, but the 2010 search for the country’s messiest home certainly proved them wrong! From an entire mini-village of bunny figurines, to a house full of homemade mascot costumes to 30 years worth of mail that hasn’t been thrown out, Niecy and the gang are in for one wild, messy ride! The first one-hour episodes of “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” follow cluttered home clean-ups in Chicago, IL; Camarillo, CA; and Durham, NC. The team also visits, Portland, OR; Wayne, NJ; Corona, CA; and Newburgh, NY.
In each new “Clean House: Search for the Messiest Home in the Country” episode, host Niecy Nash, interior design guru Mark Brunetz, yard sale diva Trish Suhr, go-to-guy Matt Iseman, jack-of-all-trades Joel Steingold (select episodes), and guest host Lisa Arch (on select episodes), are on a mission to help families regain control of their messy homes. After addressing the root causes of a homeowner’s clutter, the “Clean House” crew makes its way through the mountains of “stuff,” determining what must go. Discarded items are sold at a giant public yard sale with proceeds matched by the show going towards a much-needed home makeover.
The premiere episode finds the “Clean House” team in Chicago , IL at the home of Grandmother Pat and daughter Maureen. (Pat’s other daughter, Danielle and granddaughter, Nissa, have moved out because they can’t handle the mess.) Pat has gotten so used to her clutter that she can’t even see it anymore! Self diagnosed as “clutter blind,” she has been a pack rat her whole life but with the help of Niecy and her team of experts she hopes to break the cycle of clutter and turn her life around for the sake of her family.
Additional episodic highlights from the “Clean House: Search from the Messiest Home in the Country” event include:
In Camarillo, CA, the “clean team” meets hoarder Jon and his wife Kristin. Jon is attached to anything that reminds him of his childhood and has a unique “clutter system” that is driving his wife crazy! He has so much junk that his own wife isn’t allowed to use the master bedroom closet! Can these new parents clean up their act or will the clutter drive a wedge between them? (April 28) In Durham, NC, the team encounters its first haunted house! Residents Mo and Krista won’t throw anything out because they believe the spirit of Mo’s mother and grandmother live within their clutter! (May 5) In Newburgh, NY a recently divorced mother of four spends every waking minute waiting on her boys – while letting the house fall to pieces. The team tries to explain to her that she is actually hurting them by giving them no responsibilities…and has to convince her to clean up her act! (June 2)
