TLC today confirmed that it is partnering with Niecy Nash to follow along as she plans her dream wedding to fiancé Jay Tucker. The network will join the couple as they search for their venue, discover the perfect dress, and ultimately, get married. The entire wedding experience will air as a 2-hour television event days after the ceremony.
Nash, who is anticipating a Memorial Day weekend wedding, is starting from scratch in planning for the celebration. She, along with her mother, wedding planner Michelle Fox-Gott, and a group of bridesmaids – who include close friends Sherri Shepherd and Sheryl Lee Ralph – will spend the coming months making sure the event is the perfect reflection of the couple. T Group Productions has been tapped to produce the special.
The wedding genre has become a tentpole at TLC, with hit franchise SAY YES TO THE DRESS, and its ATLANTA and BIG BLISS spin-offs, and FOUR WEDDINGS dominating ratings on Friday nights. TLC also recently announced that it plans to air a week-long programming event starting Sunday, April 24 and leading into the highly anticipated nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29.In partnership with ITV Studios America, TLC will produce a special week-long Royal lineup featuring Royal editions of some of TLC’s most popular series, including a special that focuses on both British and American hoarders and extreme collectors of royal memorabilia.
The Niecy Nash wedding special adds to TLC’s commitment giving its viewers the best wedding programming on television.
